It’s an adrenaline-fuelled reintroduction to the series that tests how well you remember the combat, as well as providing a few new tricks. It’s also the start of one of the new side-story villain threads that are optional, and while those don’t offer anything overly new in terms of gameplay, they do add valuable extra scraps of story. They flesh out these villains, allowing fully formed characters to emerge where once they were merely one-and-done boss battle appearances.
It’s literally called Spider-Man 2 (2023) , and it’s written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Ig Guara. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 welcomes players back to the hustle and bustle of New York City and puts Miles Morales and Peter Parker into the shared spotlight. While the adventure to take down Kraven is mostly linear, offering players a straightforward narrative, there’s still a lot of side content to dive into, like combat challenges, collectibles, quests, and much more. For the first time in the series, you can now switch between both Spider-Men, using their individual skills to explore different parts of the story. This isn’t just a simple character swap mechanic – how you use them is fundamental to how you progress through the game. Besides the change of main antagonists, there are also villains to fight against all across New York City.
The fundamental difference is that this time both Peter Parker and Miles Morales are playable. The playable character changes during certain plot points, for example, if one of them isn’t able to arrive somewhere in time or when they need to split up. The only villains we get are Kraven, Venom, Sandman, The Lizard, and Mysterio (kind of). They set up The Chameleon and Carnage but they don’t actually do anything. And that’s not even mentioning side characters like Silver Sable who easily could’ve returned in some capacity.
It also comes with extra suits, early unlock bonus items, extra skill points, and Photo Mode items. ³ Wired connection required to experience the full range of in-game controller features. The responsive vibrations of the DualSense controller bring Peter Parker’s symbiote abilities and Miles Morales’ bio-electric skills to your fingertips. The PlayStation overlay is available for Windows PC players with an account for PlayStation Network to earn PlayStation Trophies and access Friends lists, settings, and player profile.
Gameplay

Peter and Miles oversee a prisoner transfer at the R.A.F.T., but are rudely interrupted by Kraven and his forces as they seek to capture the villains for unknown purposes. Take on brutal world-famous explorer, Kraven the Hunter; vicious reptilian creature, Lizard; a symbiote-infused Venom unlike anything you’ve ever seen before, and many more to be discovered. Mask-up and swing into action against a true rogue’s gallery of the biggest Super Villains in Marvel’s bustling roster of bad guys.
